Sea of Stars is a one-of-a-kind sculptural porcelain bowl finished in Abyssal Bloom™, my signature studio glaze.
Layers of deep ocean blue, mineral green, and near-black move across the porcelain surface, pooling and breaking differently with every contour. Its dramatically undulating edge gives the vessel an organic, almost living form — somewhere between a bloom opening and the movement of water.
No two pieces finished in Abyssal Bloom™ will ever emerge from the kiln exactly alike.

There are pieces that come out of the kiln exactly as imagined — and then there are pieces that reveal something entirely unexpected.
Sea of Stars is one of those pieces.
Hand-formed in porcelain, the vessel rises and falls around an intentionally irregular, sculptural edge. Across the surface, layers of deep blue, teal, mineral green and shadowy charcoal flow into one another, gathering in the folds and breaking across the raised porcelain beneath.
The effect has extraordinary depth. In some places, the glaze appears almost black; in others, luminous greens seem to rise through the blue like light beneath deep water.
Sea of Stars is finished in Abyssal Bloom™, my Signature Studio Glaze — a glaze combination developed in my studio and reserved for select Cori Denyce works.
Because Abyssal Bloom™ responds to the form, thickness, application and firing of each individual piece, its character can never be precisely repeated. Pieces within the collection will share its distinctive palette and depth, but each firing creates its own markings, movement and variations.
That unpredictability is part of what makes each piece singular.
